E-commerce platform and digital experience for luxury furniture brand
Project Overview
Olmo is a premium furniture brand that creates sustainable, handcrafted wooden pieces. They needed a digital flagship store that didn’t feel like a standard “grid of products,” but rather an immersive catalog that tells the story behind every piece of timber.
Client Challenges
The luxury market requires a high level of sensory detail. Olmo struggled to justify their premium pricing through a standard Shopify template. They needed to convey the texture, the craftsmanship, and the sustainability of their process while maintaining a seamless checkout experience that didn’t feel “transactional.”
Our Solution
- Headless E-commerce: We decoupled the frontend from the backend using Astro and Shopify Hydrogen. This allowed us to create a completely custom UI while keeping Shopify’s robust secure checkout.
- Cinematic Product Pages: Instead of static images, we integrated high-quality video loops and macro-photography scrolls that trigger as the user explores the product’s details.
- Sustainability Dashboard: We designed a unique “Traceability Map” for every product, showing the origin of the wood and the specific artisan who crafted it.
Key Features
- Custom 3D Configurator: An interactive tool where users can swap fabric textures and wood finishes in real-time.
- Smart Cart Logic: A sophisticated “White Glove Delivery” scheduler integrated directly into the checkout flow.
- Instant Search & Filter: A zero-latency filtering system that allows users to browse by room, material, or designer.
Results & Impact
- Average Order Value (AOV): Increased by 35% due to the enhanced product storytelling and “Complete the Look” recommendations.
- Performance: Despite high-res video assets, the site scores 98/100 on desktop performance thanks to intelligent lazy-loading.
- Global Reach: The new multi-currency and multi-language setup facilitated their first major international sales in the EU and Asia.
